His focus on whitetail writing has led to dozens of articles published in the last decade, and prides himself in finding unique angles and practical strategies for both public and private land deer hunters.
Highlights:
- Expertise and Interests: Public land hunting, applying science to increase hunting odds, how playing sports and hunting pertain to personal character development.
- Publications: Field & Stream, North American Whitetail, Deer and Deer Hunting, Bowhunter, MidWest Outdoors, Woods -N-Water News.
- 2022 Winner of Michigan Outdoor Writers Association’s Cliff Ketchum award for best outdoor feature.
Experience: Born in the hunting-rich state of Michigan, Adam grew up hearing deer camp stories from his father and uncles that sparked his young imagination. As a kid he could always be found playing in a woods, field, or creek, and this wonder of nature naturally led him to pick up a bow and chase whitetail as soon as legally possible – on his twelfth birthday. Through his adolescence he excelled at sports (basketball and baseball) and attributes his work ethic to the many lessons learned on both the ball field and in the fall woods. Following college, Adam set his sights on a new pursuit – singing and songwriting, which led him to the neon lit corner bars and stages of Nashville. He returned to his home state in 2010 and invested his energies into hunting, and with the honed skills he learned from crafting songs, began writing outdoor articles for local and then national magazines. He currently teaches, writes for numerous magazines, volunteers at his church, and hosts the Deer IQ podcast and blog.
